Mine is not a singular story, but it is a story like many others. But stories like mine, made up of shining eyes, hugs, departures, suitcases, kilometers traveled ... and returns, often have a common denominator: the love for their land and the desire to return there; And it is precisely this return and this love that I want to tell you.
I left for Milan back in 1990 and there I started working, (I was involved in telecommunications) I started a family and stayed there for 27 years. To tell the truth, unlike the many who find their own dimension in Milan, I was not well; I experienced that city as an oppression. The rhythms of life, the scarce human relationships, the chaos of the city...... they were a source of discomfort for me. That city, although it offered a lot from the point of view of services, work, opportunities, was not for me, I could not find my dimension there.
It is for all these reasons that when my company proposed/imposed me in 2001 the transfer to Parma I accepted without hesitation
For me, Parma was a rebirth for many reasons; I was able to take better care of my interests and among the many the interest in nature, animals, creation in general.
Hiking, walking and outdoor activities were part of my new life.
I stayed in Parma for 16 years, until my company decided that "I was no longer needed" in that city and sent me back to Milan. It's the year 2017
Here is the turning point: a risky and courageous and obviously painful decision, to leave the job that had made me live decently for so many years and return to Gangi to realize a project or rather a dream that for a long time I had kept well sealed in a drawer: to become a beekeeper. The passion for bees was great, these small insects fascinated me. Their perfect world was a source of great interest.
I gloss over the details of my transfer and go straight to the beginning.
I start with two hives given to me by my colleagues as soon as they learned of my decision. From those two hives I gradually increase my apiary.
A very important person arrives in my new life, my current partner Giusi, who had nothing to do with the countryside and even less with bees. Giusi is a teacher, she too lived in Milan for almost 17 years and then like me returned to Gangi with a great sensitivity to the environmental problems that she faces daily with her students. Giusi has shown extreme enthusiasm for my business and has supported all my initiatives with conviction
She immediately approached the world of bees, she was fascinated by it and from the first moment it was total sharing of countless projects that we have carried out together.
