Biscottificio Monastra was founded in 1958 in a small town in the Nebrodi Mountains, Castell'Umberto. From a simple family-run cookie factory specializing in traditional Sicilian products, Biscottificio Monastra has grown and established itself in the area. Today the company mainly uses raw materials from organic farming. Among its lines are the "Benfatti," nomen omen, high quality cookies, perfect for a simple and genuine breakfast, tasty and rich in flavor. Benfatti are all made with raw materials from organic farming (including eggs from free-range hens) and processed using the so-called "wire cut," a method that makes the surface of the cookie rougher, enhancing its crispness and making them perfect for dunking
