Etna D.O.C. Patria Rosso is a wine that smells of Sicily, of fascinating horizons that arouse emotions, of soft woods and angular valleys where the Volcano, passionate and severe, gives the wines a natural diversity.
Our Etna Rosso comes from Nerello Mascalese grapes, an ancient native vine and Nerello Cappuccio, both grown on the northern slope of Etna between 700 and 800 meters above sea level. The grapes enjoy a unique climate compared to the rest of Sicily. The constant ventilation, the humidity and the particular temperature variations between day and night create a unique pedoclimatic environment.
Our label is a tribute to the painting by Salvatore Incorpora, a Calabrian painter and sculptor who died in Sicily.
Theme, the rest of the grapes, where the grapes already picked, wait, next to a jug, the time for the transformation of the must into wine.
Next to the image are the verses of the "Ballad of the spirits" by Sergio Mazza, a Sicilian writer, which describe the colors and landscapes, where the fiery red of Etna mixes with human blood. Everything fades into a nostalgic, languid landscape.
Braille has been added to the bottle in solidarity and support for the blind.
The particular geographical location with an altitude that reaches between 750 and 900 meters in its highest part, makes the territory the main element that differentiates it for typicality and uniqueness.
Thanks to the exposure and the altitude, the result is a late environment characterized by strong temperature variations. Open to innovations and experiments, the cellar aims for excellence starting from the vineyards, whose monitoring is aimed at understanding their phenolic maturity and therefore the right harvest period.
