Petralava Etna Rosso DOC by Antichi Vinai is a wine that embodies the authentic essence of the Etna territory, where the power of the volcano and Sicilian winemaking tradition have met for over a century.
Made from 85% Nerello Mascalese and 15% Nerello Cappuccio, from vineyards located between Castiglione di Sicilia, Randazzo, Linguaglossa and Piedimonte Etneo, Petralava Rosso is born at an altitude between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, on mineral-rich volcanic soils subject to strong temperature swings.
To the eye, it presents an intense ruby red tending toward garnet. On the nose, it opens with a refined, wine-forward bouquet, with elegant floral notes, ripe red fruit, vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate it is dry, full and harmonious, with soft, persistent tannins that give structure and depth, accompanied by hints of licorice and black pepper.
With an alcohol content of 13.5%, Petralava Etna Rosso is a wine of strong personality, ideal to accompany red meats, game and bold-flavored dishes. Thanks to its tannic component and lively acidity, it has a remarkable aging capacity that can exceed 10 years if stored in a cool, dark place.
